Enhanced oil recovery using CO2 has become an increasingly popular technique, both because of its effectiveness in mobilizing oil, and the growing availability of CO2 from carbon capture projects. This presentation will describe techniques for enhanced recovery using CO2 in both conventional and tight reservoirs.
Mini Bio: Steven Knabe is a Global Director at Halliburton Consulting. Steve is an experienced oil and gas technical and operations manager with both operator and service company experience. Steve has co-authored multiple technical papers and patent applications. Steve holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Steve is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas. Steve has worked on major oil and gas development projects in several countries, including: Drilling, completion and stimulation programs for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs; Full field reviews; Field development plans for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs; Enhanced oil recovery projects; Digital oilfield initiatives.
