ABSTRACT:

The world is going through the biggest change in energy infrastructure for many decades, driven by the need to mitigate climate change and climate risk. Digital will be at the heart of how we can better design, execute and operate low-carbon and carbon-negative systems. It will enable intelligent optimisation of initial designs, accelerate the construction phase and ensure real time optimisation of more diverse and intermittent energy supply sources. In this presentation we will review how digital solutions can, and are, impacting emissions from oil and gas operations, and how digital can help decarbonise the global energy industry via carbon capture and sequestration. We will also show how digital is impacting low carbon energy generation systems such as hydrogen, geothermal, offshore wind.

Mini-Bio: Steve is currently the Head of Energy Transition for the Digital and Integration side of Schlumberger. Steve is also the Global Technology Advisor for Subsurface, AI and Innovation.
