“Resilience of Pre-salt Projects”

By 2009, one year after the world financial crisis and when the first discoveries in Pre-salt where already announced and appraisal wells confirmed potential recoverable volumes, there was some skepticism from part of the market that those technical challenging accumulations could become economically feasible developed: that year Brent oil price averaged US$ 62/bbl - since then, what a History the Industry has done… Currently producing more than 2,6MM boe/day from several fields, “Pre-salt” became a worldwide known trademark of success in E&P industry, with undoubtful economical return as can be shown by the attraction from multinational big players in the bid rounds since 2017, anxious to participate on this journey.
But questions have been raised again since last February with oil price drastic reduction: should there be concern on the Economics of Pre-salt for coming years, i.e., how to plan/execute projects with breakeven under stressed Brent forecasted price scenario? The goal of this Webinar is to discuss with some of the leaders of major players in Pre-salt province how they are addressing some issues to support the resilience of their production development portfolio like: appraisal strategies to reduce time to 1st oil; Consortia members experience contribution to project conception and implementation; new business models as contracting strategies for project execution; optimized use of digitalization for conception till production phase; effective total life cycle approach on project sanctioning; gas evacuation as a competitive option to full reinjection; scale benefit use of similar projects in the same geographical area.
