SPE Brazil Women In Energy Symposium: E&P Opportunities

After a period of strong retraction of investments started in 2014, 2019 marks the return of activities and optimism in the oil and gas industry. Internal policies focused on the sector, driven by the bidding rounds of new exploration areas, the proposals to solve the onerous assignment deadlock and the divestments of Petrobras, together with a favorable external environment marked by the recovery of the Brent value, establish a clear inflection.
In this scenario, Brazil occupies a privileged position, with an enviable exploratory potential allied to a well-established technological park, newly available opportunities in mature offshore fields and small investments opportunities onshore.
It this situation the competitiveness of the O&G sector requires that the best business practices are employed. According to a McKinsey & Company research, companies that promote diversity in executive levels are 21% more likely to obtain better financial results then its peers *1.
Having all this into account, the Society of Petroleum Engineers Brazil Section Women in Energy Committee is organizing the SPE Brazil Women In Energy Symposium: E&P Opportunities, to be held on july 18, 2019, at Firjan headquarters.
The symposium will be attended by prominent executives from the Brazilian and international oil industry, leading the discussions on the opportunities that the E&P market will bring in this moment of recovery.
Exploratory frontier opportunities in Brazil, business opportunities for IOCs and entrepreneurship for the development of onshore production will be addressed. Another point of attention of the event will be the research and development opportunities, leveraged by Brazilian legislation.
Innovating in the dynamics of this type of discussion, the SPE Brazil Women In Energy Symposium will focus on women’s leadership in the technical and business debate, and will also address how greater diversity in institutions and companies are valuable advantages to the business.
