On one side, indigenous groups and communities in Latin America hold unprecedented empowerment on the licenses to operate E&P activities, making the resolution of issues on surface harder than on subsurface. The current synergy among key stakeholders including government (municipalities, regional and national departments), private sector (service companies and operators) and the communities allows the development of E&P operations within the framework of respect to the environment and safety for all the players involved in the projects.

On the other side, to fully embrace the benefits of the synergy, oil and gas companies must constantly improve their operational techniques, which are closely linked to environmental and safety topics, to develop the resources with operational and social responsibility efficiency.

The SPE Workshop: HSE and Sustainability - The Cornerstone for Efficient E&P Operations aims to present the latest innovations on technology and the environmental, safety and corporate social responsibility challenges and opportunities on its application. It will also focus on the key role the indigenous groups and communities play in the application of technology in the operations.
